Scientists and engineers from
the technology team at Verum Group led and delivered a New Zealand
Government investment in a four-year research project into 'Hydrogen and
Clean Energy'. It was jointly undertaken with IRL (who developed the
electrolyser component of the technology package), with collaboration
from the University of Canterbury.
The project created the
technology platform required to allow New Zealand to develop new energy
technologies to help New Zealand meet the challenges of global climate
change and peak oil. The team developed a new process technology based
on the integration of co-fired coal-biomass gasification and a new
electrolyser system design for co-production of hydrogen plus syngas for
Fischer-Tropsch production.
