Mine Drainage and Passive Water Treatment

Mine Drainage and Passive Water Treatment services by Verum Group New Zealand

Verum Group has a long history of studying and treating mine drainage. Mine drainage is often acidic, and is typically high in iron, sulfate, and other contaminants.

It can occur in natural systems, but is also generated when mining activity exposes previously covered minerals such as pyrite to air and water. This drainage can have a serious and detrimental effect on receiving environments and is often able to be treated with a passive (low or no chemical input) system. With our long history and breadth of clients, we have the expertise to determine the optimal treatment process to reduce environmental impacts.
